Deputy Operations Manager x 2

About the role:

Active Wirral are seeking to recruit two Deputy Operations Managers to support the Senior Management Team within Leisure Services.

The modernisation to the management and support workforce of the Active Wirral service follows recommendations from a leading UK leisure consultancy. The modernisation focuses on strengthening the operational management, facility and sports management and operational support workforce across the service. The service seeks to optimise efficiencies, whilst making meaningful saving towards the councils Medium Term Financial Plan. 

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidates to contribute to the ongoing change programme and be a pivotal role in the Leisure Transformation Project.

About the candidate:

You will lead a team of Sports and Leisure Managers and work with the operational support team to review, optimise and implement all commercial elements of the Leisure business whilst being responsible for assisting in the leadership of various operational teams, maintaining and improving income across the service and monitoring key performance indicators.

The Deputy Operations Manager will be innovative, forward thinking, a positive and solution focused approach to operational management and have a passion for seeking new business opportunities.

The post holder will also ensure the provision of safe, high quality and affordable leisure services for residents, adhering to local authority best practice and industry standards.

Interviews are planned for week commencing 3rd July 2025.
