HR Helpdesk Officer – 12 month Fixed Term Contract – Maternity Cover

Are you passionate about helping people and delivering excellent customer service? We’re looking for a dedicated, people‑focused HR Helpdesk Officer to join our welcoming and supportive Transaction Centre team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in providing a reliable, high‑quality service to colleagues across our organisation.

About the Role:

As an HR Helpdesk Officer, you will be the trusted first point of contact for employees, managers and external partners. You’ll provide clear, accurate and timely advice on a wide range of HR and business support enquiries — including those that are complex or sensitive.

You will handle transactions, maintain accurate records, and produce tailored reports that support informed decision‑making. You’ll also contribute to improving our processes, helping us continually enhance the service we deliver.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Providing informed, professional advice on HR and business support processes — including non‑routine and complex enquiries.
  • Preparing accurate correspondence, reports and statements while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Extracting, interpreting and analysing data from business systems to ensure correct procedures are followed.
  • Responding to queries and complaints with compassion, clarity and professionalism.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and sharing ideas for better ways of working.
  • Building positive working relationships and contributing to a supportive, collaborative team culture.
  • Assisting in the training and mentoring of colleagues when required.

About the Candidate:

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong, positive relationships. Experienced in working in a busy, customer‑focused environment.

Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) are required with the ability to analyse information, follow procedures and make sound, well‑reasoned decisions.

The successful candidate will demonstrate our commitment to our values and provide a service we can all be proud of.

Interviews to be held 18th March 2026.
