Business Support Officer - Fixed Term (12 months)
About the Role
Wirral Children’s Services are establishing a dedicated project team within the Customer Resolution & Information Team to help reduce a backlog of Subject Access Requests (SARs) for care‑experienced young people and young adults, while strengthening compliance with statutory timescales.
As a Business Support Officer, you will play a vital role in preparing social care records for lawful disclosure. This will involve working with archived paper files and electronic records held in Liquid Logic, scanning and extracting information and compiling it into a single, well‑ordered PDF file ready for review by the Data Protection Coordinator.
This role is central to supporting care‑experienced young people and adults to understand their identity, personal history and care journey. Providing timely, accurate and compassionate access to records is essential to upholding their rights, dignity and wellbeing.
About the Candidate
We are looking for an organised and detail‑focused individual with the confidence and professionalism to handle sensitive and confidential information.
You will have experience of administrative or business support work and be comfortable working with electronic systems and documents. You will understand the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and compliance when handling personal data and information requests.
You will be empathetic and respectful in your approach, particularly when supporting care‑experienced young people and adults who may have vulnerabilities or additional needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential, as is the ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines.
Experience of working within social care, local government or information governance is desirable, but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
As part of our Talent Strategy, we’re committed to strengthening opportunities for our people to learn, grow, progress and thrive. For many of you, this may be preparing and applying for your next role with us, and we're passionate about ensuring you feel supported throughout your internal recruitment experience.
