Central Advice and Duty Team (CADT) Team Leader - Permanent 36 hours

Are you an inspiring leader with a passion for making a positive impact in adult social care? We’re looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Team Leader to join Wirral Council’s Central Advice and Duty Team (CADT) - the front door to our adult social care services.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing team at the heart of our response to residents, professionals, and partners seeking advice, support, or safeguarding interventions.

About the Role:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of our telephone-based referral and advice service.
  • Ensure the smooth flow of referrals, accurate information recording, and efficient triaging of enquiries from the public, professionals, and partner agencies.
  • Provide strong, supportive leadership, shaping a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture.
  • Play a key role in service development, identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance quality, and strengthen our ‘front door’ approach.
  • Manage staff recruitment, supervision, performance, and wellbeing.
  • Work closely with external partners, including health and emergency services.
  • Handle escalations, complex queries, complaints, and incident reviews.
  • Support the implementation of new systems and ensure the team uses IT tools effectively, including Liquidlogic.

This role is central to ensuring adults in Wirral receive timely, compassionate, and effective support from the first point of contact.

About the candidate:

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced leader with a proven ability to motivate, coach, and develop staff.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and enjoys problem-solving.
  • Has excellent communication skills with the ability to manage sensitive and complex information confidently.
  • Brings experience in service delivery, change management, or team leadership within health, social care, or similar settings.
  • Is confident using data, systems, and digital tools to inform decision making.
  • Understands and promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Shows resilience, empathy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality public services.
