An exciting opportunity has arisen within Wirral Public Health for a Public Health Practitioner to work within its Delivery Team.
The Public Health Delivery Team works to protect and promote the health and wellbeing of the local population, working to deliver and promote public health interventions and programmes, in collaboration with a wide range of partners, across a broad range of public health portfolios. The Delivery Team supports the implementation of Wirral's Health and Wellbeing Strategy, focussed on reducing health inequalities and improving the health of local people.
About the Role:
This is a permanent post, working to the Public Health Delivery Manager, and alongside a multi-skilled team of public health professionals. The role of the Public Health Practitioner will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of a range of Public Health programmes that promote health and wellbeing, protect health, address the wider determinants of health, encourage healthy behaviours and reduce health inequalities in line with local needs and agreed priorities. The role will involve using skills and knowledge to work in partnership on the implementation of plans that will make a significant contribution to improving health outcomes for Wirral residents.
About the Candidate:
You will be contributing to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a range of programmes and services that will improve health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities. Working as one of a team of Public Health Practitioners, you will collectively cover the breadth of the Public Health portfolio. The Public Health Operational Delivery plan will define specific priority areas of focus, and you will have knowledge and skills required to contribute to programmes of work across health protection, health improvement and healthcare Public Health adapting as necessary to service requirements and priorities.
