Collection & Recovery Officer
36 hours x 2 (Fixed-Term until 31/03/27)
The Revenues and Benefits Service has an exciting opportunity to recruit 2 new Collection & Recovery Processing Specialist on a fixed-term contract, within the Debt and Income Maximisation Team.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be working within the Debt and Recovery Teams, they will be responsible for handling the complex cases on the team and providing support to their subordinates, to ensure the maximise revenue for the Council. In addition, you will be responsible for responding to service queries as instructed by your team leader and dealing with complaints/enquiries within your service area to an appropriate deadline. You can expect to join a highly dedicated team and work with skilled and committed managers to take forward our ambitious and exciting changing programme. Focussed on continuous improvement and quality services you will work in a supportive environment, and provide a strong leadership to your team, giving stability, direction and energy to the service and making a difference.
We have embraced new ways of working and hybrid working between home and office will be a feature of this role. You will be given a nominated contractual work base, and you will be required to commute to this work base when necessary. Our technology platform and equipment allow you to connect and collaborate remotely which requires that you have in place good connectivity. This will be discussed during the recruitment process if support is required.

You are an organised and proactive professional with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You have experience handling complex casework, managing competing priorities, and delivering excellent customer service. You are confident dealing with sensitive situations, supporting colleagues, and working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A collaborative approach, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for customers and the Council will help you succeed in this role. A positive attitude towards learning, development, and continuous improvement is essential.
